WELCOME TO SCIENCE!
My name is Elisabeth Flohr and I am very passionate about the sciences! I started my career in education in 2001 and this will be my 18th year teaching! Prior to coming to Hill Country Middle School I most recently taught in California at Malibu High School (2009-2014) and Kealing Middle School in Austin (2004-2009). I have taught science and math classes in 6th grade through high school, have worked with the National Science Foundation and have mentored college students through the UTeach program at the University of Texas. During the summers I teach the UTeach Outreach Summer Camp, Research in Life Science.
I grew up in both Texas and California and went to college in San Antonio at Trinity University. During my collegiate years I studied marine biology and medicine at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark through the study abroad program.

In the summer of 2016 I traveled with students and parents to the Galapagos Islands! It was an amazing trip and we had a blast. Seeing where Charles Darwin first landed to study the islands, crawling through lava tunnels, seeing animals endemic to the islands, snorkeling and more!
